Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 19th that the ‘Hydrogen City Development Project’ has passed the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s Central Investment Review, gaining momentum for its promotion.
The ‘Central Investment Review’ is an administrative procedure that verifies the feasibility of major investment projects by local governments in advance to prevent reckless investments and manage finances productively.
Since requesting the investment review in August, the district has made various efforts for the successful promotion of the project, including visiting the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for consultations.
Taking advantage of passing the Central Investment Review this time, the district plans to accelerate the development of the hydrogen city by establishing a master plan in the first half of next year.
Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, “With the swift passage of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s Central Investment Review, we will devote all our efforts to promoting the Hydrogen City Development Project,” adding, “We will do our utmost to create happy spaces for residents such as eco-friendly theme parks and to realize energy self-sufficiency and carbon neutrality in Dong-gu.”
