Imperfect agricultural products refer to produce that has blemishes or slightly deformed shapes, making them less marketable, but their taste and nutritional value remain intact. Recently, with expanded distribution channels, competitive pricing, and unique appearances being branded, these products have gained popularity among consumers.

LG Household & Health Care focused on this trend and launched five new Ugly Lovely products that upcycle ingredients extracted from imperfect agricultural products and by-products for use as cosmetic raw materials. The lineup includes two wash-off mask packs, one sleeping pack, and two sheet masks. All products are formulated with over 90% naturally derived ingredients and have received vegan certification from the Korea Vegan Certification Institute.

The flagship product, the 'Fig Mask,' contains ingredients such as extracts from imperfect figs grown pesticide-free in Hampyeong, Jeonnam, and ground food by-products like walnut shells and apricot seeds. It is a sugar scrub product that helps with exfoliation and pore care. The newly released 'Yuja Mask' includes extracts from imperfect yuja grown pesticide-free in Goheung, Jeonnam, as well as efficacy ingredients like vitamin C and niacinamide.

To celebrate the launch of Ugly Lovely, LG Household & Health Care is operating a pop-up store at 'Be Clean,' a clean beauty edit shop located in The Hyundai Seoul, until the 22nd. Various events are underway, including welcome gifts for visitors and special benefits for customers who complete on-site missions.

The brand manager of Ugly Lovely stated, "We plan to expand the product range to include skincare, lip care, and hand care, and develop the brand into one that shares tastes and philosophies with customers."
