Hong Nampyo, Changwon Special City Mayor, "Establish Integrated Defense Posture, Create a Better City to Live In"

4th Quarter Integrated Defense Council Meeting Held

On the 17th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the '2023 4th Quarter Changwon Special City Integrated Defense Council' at the City Hall Citizen Hall, chaired by Mayor Hong Nam-pyo.


The meeting was attended by over 40 members and officials of the Integrated Defense Council, including military, police, and fire departments.


The agenda proceeded with a security video screening, reports on integrated defense achievements and operational plans, and a report on the Reserve Forces Development Support Project performance.

The local responsible units, the 1st Battalion of the 5870 Unit and the Naval Ground Defense Battalion, conducted the '2023 Reserve Forces Development Support Project Performance Report' for each unit, sharing with related agencies the execution status of support funds by category, specific usage details, and next year's project plans, providing an opportunity for in-depth discussion on the Reserve Forces Support Project.


Mayor Hong said, “I am always grateful for the active cooperation of the Integrated Defense Council institutions and organizations amid the escalating conflicts between the three countries of Korea, the U.S., and Japan, and the three countries of North Korea, China, and Russia, as well as the repeated tension escalation on the Korean Peninsula, which pose a national security crisis.”


He added, “I hope we can work together to create a safe and livable city through the mutual development of civilians, government, military, and police, and the establishment of a solid regional integrated defense posture.”
