Review of 20 Agenda Items Including the 2024 Revenue and Expenditure Budget Proposal
The Muan County Council of Jeollanam-do (Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun) announced that it has opened the 290th 2nd regular session for a period of 25 days from the 17th to the 11th of next month.
During this regular session, six member-initiated bills, including the "Support Ordinance for Borderline Intellectual Disability" which pertains to individuals between disabled and non-disabled, and 14 agenda items submitted by the executive branch, including the "2024 General Budget Revenue and Expenditure Budget," will be reviewed.

On this day, Councilor Kim Bong-seong gave a 5-minute free speech on the topic of "Urging the Establishment of Support Policies for Single-Person Youth Households," and Councilor Park Ssang-bae spoke on "Urging the Preparation of Countermeasures for the Rapidly Changing Climate Crisis."
The main schedule includes listening to the county administration report from the 20th to the 24th, followed by five days from the 27th for each standing committee to hear explanations and deliberate on ordinance proposals, preliminary review of the budget, and from the 4th to the 6th of next month, the Special Budget and Accounts Committee will review and approve the 2024 revenue and expenditure budget.
Subsequently, county administration questions will be held from December 7th to 8th, and on December 11th, the 9th plenary session will be convened to make the final approval of the 2024 revenue and expenditure budget and ordinances, concluding the 25-day legislative schedule.
Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun said, "As this is a difficult time due to economic downturn and fiscal austerity, it is time for the council and the executive branch to work together through communication and cooperation," adding, "I ask my fellow council members to carefully examine whether our county’s limited resources are appropriately allocated to the right places, and I request active cooperation from the executive branch to make this session productive."
