Huons Obtains International Standard Environmental Management Certification 'ISO14001'

Huons recently announced on the 17th that it has obtained the environmental management system 'ISO14001' certification from the Korea Management Certification Institute.

ISO14001 certification is an international standard for sustainable environmental management systems. It is a system that evaluates and systematically manages the environmental impact of all management activities related to the products produced, services provided, and various operational items of a company.

Huons set this year’s environmental management goals as minimizing environmental pollution, improving energy efficiency and low-carbon management, and strengthening management systems. To build the system, it organized related teams, established environmental management goals and policies, and promoted environmental management activities. To minimize the emission of pollutants within its business sites, Huons established a water resource management system and increased the recycling rate through waste classification by type and compression processes to reduce waste generation. Additionally, to manage air pollutant emissions, it invested in aging facilities and conducted regular maintenance. It also improved equipment efficiency through regular maintenance of boilers, which are the main source of nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions among air pollutants, continuing various efforts for environmental management.

A Huons representative said, "By obtaining the ISO14001 environmental management system certification, we will keep pace with the global ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management trend," adding, "We will actively strive to fulfill our social responsibility for sustainable environmental management."

In order to secure a global-level management system, Huons has also obtained various international standard certifications such as ISO45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System), ISO27001 (Information Security Management System), and ISO37001/37301 (Anti-Corruption and Compliance Management Systems).
