[Click eStock] "Why You Should Pay Attention to Autonomous Driving Parts Stocks"

SK Securities analyzed on the 17th that attention is needed for autonomous driving parts stocks.

Yoon Hyuk-jin, a researcher at SK Securities, said, "Autonomous driving technology, which was expected to be fully introduced from 2025, is now perceived as a distant future due to technical, cost, and regulatory issues," but added, "Level 2 autonomous driving functions that assist the driver's driving have already become indispensable features." He continued, "Although the timing of the introduction of fully autonomous vehicles is uncertain, autonomous driving-related parts such as ADAS components are already being adopted one by one in new cars."

In particular, Yoon predicted that interest in autonomous driving parts stocks will increase next year. He stated, "Traditional automakers, which recorded record-high profits this year, are now facing internal factors such as somewhat burdensome high car prices, increased installment interest rates, consumption slowdown due to economic recession, and intensified competition among automakers," adding, "The profit scale of finished car manufacturers next year is expected to focus more on maintaining rather than increasing, and interest in the autonomous driving industry, a growth industry just beginning, is expected to gradually increase."

Accordingly, Yoon expected autonomous driving parts stocks to grow next year. He emphasized, "Starting next year, Hyundai Mobis, which is turning around with the start of electrification profit leverage, and Hyundai AutoEver, which benefits doubly from the group’s digital transformation and electrification transition, are presented as top large-cap picks," and "MCNEX, Nextchip, and Smart Radar Systems are suggested as mid- and small-cap stocks of interest."

He added, "The benefits from the blooming autonomous driving industry are expected to be enjoyed primarily by autonomous driving-related parts and software companies rather than finished car manufacturers."
