November Local Children's Center for Elementary Students
32 Executives and Staff in Pairs of Two, Visiting 16 Centers
LG Chem employees stepped up as one-day teachers.
LG Chem announced on the 16th that it will conduct educational talent donation by the ‘Green Class Employee Volunteer Group’ throughout November. Green Class is a social contribution program in which LG Chem and Hope Friends Kia Support provide ESG educational materials to elementary and middle schools. While the main role used to be creating and delivering materials, this year marks the first time Green Class employees will visit educational institutions in person to communicate with students.
The Green Class instructors this time consist of a total of 32 employees who completed in-house training. They include employees with diverse experiences in society, ranging from 20-something new hires who have been with the company for one year to executives in their 50s and in-house lawyers.
During November, the Green Class employees will visit 16 regional children’s centers in the Seoul metropolitan area and provide career and environmental education to about 200 elementary school students. The career education is conducted in a way that naturally shares dreams by explaining what choices and actions the employees have taken in their lives, tailored to the children’s level of understanding.

Since the instructors have various experiences, the children will receive diverse types of career counseling depending on the instructor. Kim Dong-gyun, an in-house lawyer from the domestic legal team who was formerly a researcher, plans to offer broad advice based on his academic experiences to children who feel lost about their career paths or studies. Han Aro, a first-year employee in the information technology team who has recently been contemplating her own career path, will deliver an engaging story about how dreams can change over time.
The employee instructors also plan to use educational materials created by Green Class to lecture on biodiversity and marine ecosystems. Activities such as making mood lamps featuring endangered species and growing sea grapes as companion plants will be provided so that children can experience these hands-on and develop an interest in the environment.
A representative from Sinjeong General Social Welfare Center said, “Many children have not yet thought about their careers or dreams or lack experience,” adding, “Thanks to the participation of LG Chem employees, the career counseling will be practically helpful.”
Kang Jae-cheol, Head of Sustainability, said, “The concerns future generations will face include environmental and social issues as well as worries about careers and dreams,” and added, “We will continue to expand the educational talent donation program involving employees and become LG Chem that supports the dreams of future generations together with our employees.”
