Fundraising Goal of 2.15 Billion Won... November 15 Love Temperature Tower Unveiling Ceremony... Fundraising to Help Neighbors in Need Begins... District Office, Community Centers Visit or QR Code Participation Available... Until February 14 Next Year
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it will carry out the '2024 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign' for three months until February 14 next year.
The 'Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign' is a neighbor-helping fundraising project conducted every winter by the district and the Seoul Community Chest of Korea to assist vulnerable groups within the local community.
On November 15, the district held an unveiling ceremony for the 'Love Thermometer' on the first floor lobby of Songpa-gu Office, officially launching the fundraising for the '2024 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign.'
At the unveiling ceremony, district council members, local sponsoring companies, and warm winter campaign ambassadors composed of Dong Happiness Fence chairpersons attended to brighten the event.
In particular, Lotte Chilsung Beverage Gangdong Branch, the first donor of this year, and the Songpa-gu Licensed Real Estate Agents Association, which sponsored 1,300 briquettes for the winter season, attended as the first donors of goods and held a donation ceremony for funds and goods.
The 'Love Thermometer' rises by 1 degree (℃) toward the fundraising goal of 2.15 billion KRW, displaying the sharing temperature of Songpa-gu in real time.
The collected donations and goods will be distributed to low-income households such as elderly living alone, people with disabilities, single-parent families, and welfare facilities in the region. In particular, welfare blind spots where support is not provided due to system limitations despite difficulties will be actively identified and focused on for distribution.
According to the district, despite difficulties caused by last year's economic downturn, about 2.5 billion KRW worth of donations and goods were raised in Songpa-gu, delivering warm sharing hands to approximately 170,000 low-income households and 419 welfare facilities in the area.
Individuals, organizations, and companies wishing to participate in the 'Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign' can apply through the fundraising desks set up at the Songpa-gu Office Welfare Policy Division or the local community service centers of their residence. Also, by scanning the QR codes attached at various fundraising desks, donors can conveniently participate using credit cards, bank transfers, or simple payment methods.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “Despite the economic recession, the participation of companies, organizations, and residents in Songpa-gu who care for their neighbors allowed last year's fundraising amount to far exceed the target. I ask for active participation in the 'Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign' this year as well so that everyone can spend a warm winter together.”
