Chonnam National University Hospital (Director Ahn Young-geun) announced on the 15th that it has provided medical supplies to the elderly population in the Gwangju area.
Chonnam National University Hospital, in collaboration with Buk-gu Office of Gwangju City, established a system for delivering medical supplies and cooperative linkage for elderly people in need of nursing or care and those in medical blind spots.
Accordingly, on the 1st and 10th of this month, Shin Junho, Deputy Director of Public Affairs at Chonnam National University Hospital, and Kim Sang-yoon, Head of the Public Health Medical Project Team, visited the Yangsan-dong Citizens' Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Buk-gu, Gwangju, and the Dongnim-dong Gwangju Disabled Comprehensive Welfare Center to deliver heating pads and pain relief patches to elderly people aged 75 and over.
Director Ahn Young-geun stated, “With the steady increase in the elderly population, it is predicted that the population aged 65 and over will exceed 10 million in 2024, and the demand for medical care and nursing is also rapidly increasing. We will continue various support activities for marginalized groups as well as fulfill our role as a responsible medical institution.”
