Wadiz Surpasses 1 Trillion Won in Cumulative Transaction Volume

Pioneering the Crowdfunding Industry
Annual Average Growth of 106%

Funding platform Wadiz (CEO Shin Hye-sung) announced on the 15th that it has recorded the highest number of new project openings for three consecutive months and surpassed a cumulative transaction amount of 1 trillion KRW in 10 years since the service started.


The follow-up investment amount received by companies that succeeded in funding on Wadiz exceeds 800 billion KRW based on disclosed figures. This means that a virtuous cycle of starting and expanding the startup ecosystem is taking place on Wadiz.


Wadiz Surpasses 1 Trillion Won in Cumulative Transaction Volume

Along with the demand from small business owners needing capital and companies seeking new distribution channels, Wadiz has grown the funding industry. It took 67 months to reach a cumulative transaction amount of 100 billion KRW, but only 9 months to surpass 200 billion KRW, and 5 months to go from 900 billion to 1 trillion KRW.


Wadiz has pioneered the domestic crowdfunding industry with the vision of "creating a world where anyone can challenge," building a business model that coexists with small and medium-sized merchants, and has grown at an average annual rate of 106% based on transaction volume. At the time of the official service launch in 2014, there were 100 projects annually, which has now increased significantly to about 1,800 projects per month.


Also, the number of projects opened on Wadiz has surpassed 60,000 to date, with an average funding success rate of 83% against targets. The cumulative number of members has exceeded 6 million, and the number of support signatures and notification requests gathered for projects is approaching 20 million.


Shin Hye-sung, CEO of Wadiz, said, "Over more than 10 years, many challenges and support have continuously created various success stories," adding, "We will expand a solid value chain for startups so that small challenges can gain great opportunities and sustain growth."
