Donation Service 'Dongbaek Dream' in Dongbaekjeon App Until December: 'Dongbaek Angel' Selection Event
'Dongbaek Angel of the Month' List Displayed on Bulletin Board and Individual App Notifications... Boosting Pride
Busan City will operate an event to select ‘Dongbaek Angels’ within the donation service ‘Dongbaek Dream’ in the Dongbaekjeon app until December.
‘Dongbaek Dream’ is a donation service established within the Dongbaekjeon app to promote non-face-to-face donation culture due to COVID-19 and other reasons, which started in June 2021.
Through this service, users can read stories themselves, select a recipient, and donate as much of their Dongbaekjeon balance or cashback as they wish. Donation receipts are also issued, allowing donors to receive tax benefits during year-end tax settlements.
This event grants the title of ‘Dongbaek Angel’ to those who donate 50,000 KRW or more within a month through ‘Dongbaek Dream’ and provides policy support funds of up to 20,000 KRW.
If a donor contributes between 50,000 KRW and less than 100,000 KRW in a month, 10,000 KRW will be provided, and if the donation is 100,000 KRW or more, an additional 10,000 KRW will be given, totaling 20,000 KRW.
The policy support funds can be used in the same way as Dongbaekjeon balance or cashback.
In addition to the policy support funds, the list of ‘Dongbaek Angels of the Month’ will be displayed through various methods such as the bulletin board within the Dongbaekjeon app and individual app notifications (push), to also boost donors’ pride.
As participation in the non-face-to-face donation service ‘Dongbaek Dream’ has somewhat slowed down after the end of COVID-19, the city expects this event to revitalize the local donation culture, enhance donors’ pride, and contribute to increasing sales of local small business owners by providing local currency through policy support funds.
The city plans to operate the event until December and will decide on its continuation based on factors such as the increase rate of donation participation.
Shin Chang-ho, Director of the Digital Economy Innovation Office of Busan City, said, “In the case of the hometown love donation system, 30% of the donation amount is returned as a gift, but Dongbaek Dream has not had a reward system until now.” He added, “Through this event, we hope to provide donors with various psychological rewards such as satisfaction and pride, leading to more active participation in donation activities.” He also stated, “As the weather has become noticeably colder and prices have risen sharply, warm affection for neighbors around us is more necessary than ever. We ask for the interest and participation of citizens in this event, which supports both neighbors in need and small business owners.”
