Closing Cultural Gaps Through Experiential Activities
On the 11th, Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, held the "Cultural Walk to Nurture Dreams" event for 35 middle school students from the area in Daegu.
This event was planned to meet the desires of youth for various experiential activities and to bridge the cultural gap, targeting members of the Uljin-gun youth participation organization.
The schedule included a tour of the Kyungpook National University campus, a tour of the Kim Kwang-seok Repainting Street, and watching the musical "Marie Curie." Especially through the Kyungpook National University campus tour, students were motivated regarding college admission and academics, and the performance viewing provided a valuable time to enhance cultural sensitivity and creativity.
A youth participant said, "Visiting the university campus in person made me think that I need to study harder to get into the university I want," and added, "The musical about the life of Marie Curie, the female scientist who discovered radium, was truly moving."
Son Byung-bok, the county governor, said, "I hope the university campus exploration helped the youth in deciding their career paths and college admissions," and added, "We will continue to strive to provide new and diverse career and job experience opportunities for local youth."
