Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) has opened the "Vietnam Track Education and Training Hub Center (hereinafter referred to as the Education Center)" at the Vietnam Railway University (VRC) located in Hanoi, Vietnam.

According to KORAIL on the 14th, the Education Center was established as part of the official development assistance (ODA) project "Strengthening Safety Management Capabilities in Vietnam Railways (Track Sector)" conducted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT).
The Education Center will be operated with KORAIL overseeing the entire education program, and six public, private, and academic institutions participating, including Shalom Engineering Co., Ltd., GSG Co., Ltd., Two Track Co., Ltd., Vercella, and Dongyang University.
The main training content includes the use of track maintenance equipment such as ultrasonic rail flaw detectors for measuring rail cracks, track defect inspection gauges, track vulnerable section inspection devices, and ballast compaction equipment.
KORAIL expects that with the opening of the Education Center, it will be possible to spread the domestic track maintenance system locally and open export routes for domestic companies' equipment.
Han Moon-hee, President of KORAIL, said, "We will spread KORAIL’s advanced railway technology and maintenance know-how to Vietnam and expand opportunities for domestic companies to enter the Southeast Asian railway market in the future."
