LCCs Begin Offering Discounted Airfare for Exam Candidates

Jeju Air and Eastar Jet Discount on Jeju Routes

LCCs (Low-Cost Carriers) are offering discounted airfares to students who took the 2024 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) and their families. The companies explained that this is both to facilitate the travel of students attending university-specific entrance exams after the CSAT and as a form of encouragement.

Jeju Air is providing a 20% discount based on the regular fare for the student and one accompanying person on all domestic routes including Jeju-Gimpo, Busan, Cheongju, Gwangju, Daegu, and Gimpo-Busan, for travel until February 23 next year. Tickets can be booked on Jeju Air’s website or mobile application until the 15th of next month.

After signing up as a Jeju Air member, select ‘ID Discount’ at the reservation stage, then choose the ‘Student Discount’ and ‘Companion Discount’ codes during the passenger information input step. On the day of boarding, one of the following must be presented at the Jeju Air counter: university application form, application receipt, or CSAT admission ticket.

Eastar Jet is also offering a special ID discount for students and one accompanying person on Jeju routes until the 15th of next month. The discount applies from the 13th of this month through the 15th of next month, and for flights departing from Gimpo, Cheongju, and Gunsan to Jeju, the travel period is from the 16th of this month to January 31 next year. The discount can be applied when booking tickets.

When paying the regular fare, selecting ‘Student’ and ‘Student Companion’ in the passenger information input field during payment will apply a 20% discount. At boarding, one of the following documents must be presented at the counter: university entrance application, application receipt, or CSAT admission ticket.
