Established in 1983 and marking its 40th anniversary this year, the Daehan Electric Wire Technology Research Center is an organization dedicated to research and development of new products in the cable and solutions fields, as well as industry-academia cooperation. Since relocating from Ansan to Dangjin, Chungnam in 2015, it has played a central role in developing next-generation products such as high-voltage direct current (HVDC) and submarine cables, enhancing the company's competitiveness.

Daehan Electric Wire pursued the relocation of the research center to strengthen its research and development (R&D) capabilities and increase synergy with its headquarters. Moving the research center to Seoul, which is rich in human and material resources, the company plans to secure additional specialized research personnel and expand the research center's functions and organization. Additionally, a new business discovery and technical support team for business divisions will be established to increase synergy with field operations.

At the plaque ceremony, Vice Chairman Song Jong-min said, "This relocation of the research center represents a strong commitment not only to strengthening R&D but also to the growth and innovation of Daehan Electric Wire," adding, "We will devote ourselves to technology development and capability enhancement based on the Seocho Technology Research Center to lead the future of the cable industry."
