Assemblyman Kim Jong-bae, "Business Operators' Carbon Reduction Performance Must Be Publicized"
To reduce carbon emissions and promote eco-friendliness and rational energy use, it has been argued that private support for the green remodeling project of aging houses should be expanded, and green remodeling project operators must disclose the carbon reduction performance before and after the project.
According to the Incheon Metropolitan Council on the 13th, Assemblyman Kim Jong-bae (People Power Party, Michuhol-gu District 4) presented an improvement in the macro direction of housing policies for carbon reduction during the administrative audit of the Urban Planning Bureau at the 291st regular session on the 10th, focusing on this content.
Assemblyman Kim stated, "The green remodeling projects promoted by Incheon City are limited to public buildings such as health centers or daycare centers that are over 10 years old, with 22 locations in 2020 and 24 locations in 2021," adding, "Expanding this significantly to the private sector is necessary for housing policies to be established through carbon emission reduction and rational energy use."
He also pointed out that although numerous advertisements for 'green remodeling construction companies' have sprung up on the internet, there are no statistics on how much carbon emissions have been reduced when windows and doors of large-scale private apartments have been renovated.
Assemblyman Kim urged Incheon City, saying, "In the case of green remodeling projects for aging apartments with central heating systems over 10 years old, please strengthen administrative guidance to link low-interest loans through the city treasury and ensure that the carbon emission reduction performance before and after the project is disclosed."
