A Precious Life Guardian Awakening the Heart
Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 13th that it has expanded the installation of 16 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in the county office and eup/myeon offices following the amendment of the Emergency Medical Services Act, which mandates the installation of AEDs in workplaces with 300 or more regular employees.
The county replaced AEDs that had exceeded their durability period and newly installed the devices in buildings where they were not previously installed to prepare for unexpected safety accidents and to respond quickly in case of an incident.
An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a device that delivers an electric shock to patients experiencing cardiac arrest due to ventricular fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia, restoring the heart's normal rhythm. It is equipment that can be easily and simply used by following the device’s voice instructions during emergencies.
County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol stated, “By expanding the installation of AEDs, we expect to play a significant role in protecting the lives of citizens visiting the county office and employees through rapid response to sudden cardiac arrest patients.” He added, “We will do our best to create a safe Hapcheon together with the citizens.”
