Jeollabuk-do announced on the 11th that Lumpy Skin Disease occurred at a Hanwoo farm in Haeri-myeon, Gochang-gun, and culling has begun.
According to Jeollabuk-do on the day, this farm raises 93 Hanwoo cattle and is located 0.6 km away from the farm where the second case of Lumpy Skin Disease in the province was reported on the 29th of last month. The day before, the farm reported that "the cattle showed skin lesions and loss of appetite."

Jeollabuk-do requested a detailed examination from the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency and received a positive diagnosis. As a result, a total of five cases of Lumpy Skin Disease have occurred in Jeonbuk, including one case in Buan and four cases in Gochang.
The provincial government culled all 93 Hanwoo cattle on the farm and inspected the operation status of the base disinfection facility, the movement of cattle and manure, and the control of blood-sucking insects, strengthening quarantine measures. Clinical surveillance of surrounding farms has also begun.
Shin Won-sik, Director of the Agricultural Life Livestock Food Bureau at the provincial government, said, "We will implement stringent quarantine measures, including banning movement between farms and manure removal within the province until 6 p.m. on the 16th," adding, "Livestock farmers should strictly follow quarantine rules and immediately report if any abnormal symptoms are observed."
