Friendly Exchange Event
On the 9th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a friendship exchange event with the Women's Association of Changwon City and the Women's Association of Goheung County, Jeonnam.
Since 1999, the women's associations of Changwon City and Goheung County have formed a sisterhood relationship, fostering friendship through biennial mutual visits to promote harmony and cooperation between the Yeongnam and Honam regions and mutual development.
About 60 members and officials from the women's associations of the city and Goheung County attended the commemorative ceremony.
Changwon Special City held a friendship exchange event on the 9th with the Changwon City Women's Association Council and the Jeonnam Goheung-gun Women's Association Council.
In Changwon, Kang Young-im, president of the city's Women's Association, and Seo Hee-jung, honorary president, and in Goheung, Kim Yeon-sook, president of the Goheung County Women's Association, and Kim Hyo-soo, honorary president, represented their regions to exchange and promote local specialties such as Changwon's persimmons and paprika, and Goheung's cuttlefish and citron tea.
They also visited representative tourist sites in Changwon, including Jinhae Marine Park, the Good Day Museum of World Liquors operated by Muhak, a local company, passed the Machang Bridge, a landmark of Changwon, and experienced Robot Land.
Kang Young-im, president of the Changwon City Women's Association, said, "Through continuous exchanges with the Goheung County Women's Association, the Changwon City Women's Association will take the lead in promoting excellent local culture and fostering harmony between the eastern and western regions."
Jang Geum-yong, the first deputy mayor, said, "Since the sisterhood agreement between the Changwon City Women's Association and Goheung in 1999, great achievements have been made in promoting excellent agricultural products and culture of Changwon and Goheung," adding, "We will continue to expand mutual exchanges to ensure the co-prosperity and development of Changwon and Goheung."
The city and Goheung County have maintained their sisterhood for 24 years since 1999, signing sister city agreements to promote friendship between the eastern and western regions, form human networks, exchange information, and pursue various exchanges.
