Mercedes-Benz Korea is introducing the plug-in hybrid model of the luxury full-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) GLE Coupe.
On the 9th, Benz Korea announced the official launch of 'The New Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 e 4MATIC Coupe' in Korea. The GLE 400 e 4MATIC Coupe is the plug-in hybrid version of the 4th generation facelifted GLE Coupe, which was launched domestically in August.
Based on an inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine, it is equipped with a new electric motor delivering a maximum output of 100 kW and an improved hybrid drive program. It can travel up to 67 km in electric mode alone. This is the longest electric driving range among plug-in hybrid models released in Korea.
With the launch of The New GLE 400 e 4MATIC Coupe, Benz Korea now offers a total lineup of six models including The New GLE SUV, SUV Coupe, high-performance models, and plug-in hybrids.
The hybrid drive system of the GLE 400 e 4MATIC Coupe combines an inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine producing a maximum output of 252 horsepower (ps) and 40.8 kg·m of torque with a new electric motor delivering a maximum output of 100 kW and maximum torque of 440 Nm. This model’s output has increased by 41 horsepower (ps) compared to the previous version.
The design embodies both the dynamism of an SUV and the sensibility of a coupe. The AMG line is applied as standard to both the interior and exterior designs. In particular, the interior features the latest multifunction sports steering wheel applied across the new GLE lineup.
Additionally, it is equipped with the latest safety and driving assistance systems as well as interior convenience features. The latest version of the driving assistance system, the 'Driving Assistance Package Plus,' is included as a standard feature. This package supports maintaining distance from the vehicle ahead, automatic speed control, braking and starting, lane detection, and stopped vehicle detection within a speed range of up to 100 km/h.
Furthermore, Benz Korea provides a free warranty of up to 8 years or 160,000 km (whichever comes first) for the high-voltage lithium-ion battery installed in the GLE 400 e 4MATIC Coupe to ensure more convenient vehicle operation for plug-in hybrid customers.
The sales price, including VAT, is 132 million KRW.
