Incheon City to Provide Emergency Housing Support for Stalking Victims Starting Next Year... Up to 30 Days

Incheon City will provide temporary housing facilities starting next year for victims in crisis due to stalking crimes.

The city announced on the 9th that it has leased five rental housing units within the city, owned by Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and Incheon Urban Corporation (iH), with budget support from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.

The temporary housing facilities for stalking victims will be operated by the Women's Emergency Call 1366 Incheon Center. Eligible users are stalking crime victims whose cases have been reported to investigative agencies and who have been assessed as high risk. They can use the facilities free of charge for up to 30 days.

Users of the temporary housing facilities will also receive support such as psychological counseling, specialized treatment for mental and physical stabilization and recovery, and connections to legal services as needed.

Additionally, the city plans to expand the Women’s Safety Dream Project, which supports the installation of Safe Home Sets and emergency bells in single-woman households and stores, from this year’s Bupyeong-gu and Namdong-gu districts to Jung-gu, Dong-gu, Michuhol-gu, and Yeonsu-gu districts next year.
