Ministry of SMEs and Startups Initiates Audit of Gongyoung Home Shopping

Full-scale Audit on Issues Raised in the National Assembly Inspection

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Lee Young) announced that it will begin a large-scale audit of Gongyoung Home Shopping starting from the 9th, following intense criticism during last month's National Assembly Industry, Trade, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee audit. The issues raised during the audit of Gongyoung Home Shopping include ▲suspected false sales of dairy cows as Korean beef cattle ▲allegations of misconduct by the standing auditor ▲bid-rigging allegations in the selection of a model agency ▲inadequate response to internal employee assault by a partner company ▲mobilization of employees for the CEO's father's funeral.

In addition, the Ministry plans to conduct sequential audits on the Comprehensive Support Center for Disabled Enterprises, which improperly used remaining government subsidy funds for internal performance bonuses, and Korea Venture Investment Corp., which is suspected of solicitation related to the selection of investments for the Korea Fund of Funds.

Regarding this, Minister Lee Young expressed his determination, stating, "We will thoroughly investigate various misconducts and negligent management within the affiliated organizations of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, strictly punish and improve them to break away from past bad practices."
