Through this agreement, KB Securities will implement the 'BI:CYCLE' campaign, which separates and recycles paper hand towels used at its training center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, and its office building in Daechi-dong, Seoul.
BI:CYCLE is an environmental protection campaign planned by Yuhan-Kimberly that collects and recycles waste such as hand towels, which are used once and easily discarded. It aims to promote sustainable corporate activities through resource circulation. Most hand towels, which absorb moisture in restrooms and are then discarded, can be used as high-quality recycled paper if properly collected. Recycling hand towels helps conserve resources and reduces carbon dioxide emissions.
KB Securities expects that the BI:CYCLE campaign will reduce approximately 2,800 kg of waste annually and cut greenhouse gas emissions by about 2.4 tons. This amount corresponds to the annual carbon absorption of about 260 pine trees (30-year-old pine trees native to the central region).
Yang Chang-ho, Head of Management Support Division at KB Securities, said, "We are honored to share the same values with Yuhan-Kimberly, which is respected for its various activities for the environment and society through this campaign participation. We hope to collaborate in more resource circulation areas to create and spread good values." He added, "With the ideas and commitment of our employees, we feel proud to be taking steps toward carbon neutrality, and we plan to continuously discover and implement ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities going forward."
