The unregistered property issue of Gongdeok Xi Apartment in Ahyeon-dong, Mapo-gu (Ahyeon 4th District Housing Redevelopment Project), which had been ongoing for 8 years, has been dramatically resolved.

Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) announced that two landowners who were involved in a lawsuit with the Ahyeon 4th District Housing Redevelopment Project Association withdrew their lawsuit and on November 8 signed an "Agreement to Resolve Gongdeok Xi Unregistered Property" with the association.

The Ahyeon 4th District, designated as a redevelopment zone in 2006, completed construction and received completion approval in 2015; however, due to lawsuits between the association and landowners, the transfer notification has not yet been issued.

Due to the 8-year delay in the transfer notification, the owners of the 1,164 units in Gongdeok Xi Apartment faced significant difficulties exercising property rights worth approximately 1.56 trillion KRW. Mapo-gu judged that this could not be simply regarded as a legal issue between the association and residents and took direct action to resolve the problem.

Since February, Mapo-gu held several coexistence committee meetings to resolve the issue but failed to achieve satisfactory results. However, with Mayor Park Gang-su leading, Mapo-gu directly mediated meetings between the parties, accelerating the agreement process.

As a result, on November 8, an agreement was reached between the parties, and the "Agreement to Resolve Gongdeok Xi Unregistered Property" was finally drafted with the attendance of Mayor Park Gang-su, relevant departments, the association, and the landowners.

On that day, the association president expressed gratitude, saying, "It is truly fortunate to have reached a dramatic agreement, and I applaud Mapo-gu’s efforts in stepping up for the residents of Gongdeok Xi."

Mayor Park Gang-su of Mapo-gu said, "I am infinitely pleased and moved as mayor that the Gongdeok Xi unregistered property issue, unresolved for the past 8 years, is finally moving toward resolution. Starting with this agreement, we will spare no administrative support to ensure the registration process proceeds quickly and smoothly. Going forward, Mapo-gu will continue to prioritize resolving residents’ difficulties 365 days a year and actively carry out administration."

With this agreement, the district expects that Gongdeok Xi Apartment will complete registration within one year after the association general meeting’s approval and the transfer notification procedures.
