Muan County Council Completes Formation of All Four Policy Support Officers

Certificate Awarding Ceremony for New Policy Support Officers on the 7th

The Muan County Council of Jeollanam-do (Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun) awarded an appointment letter to one newly appointed policy support officer (administrative level 9) in the council chairman's office on the 7th.

According to the council on the 8th, the policy support officer appointed that day was selected through the '2023 2nd Jeollanam-do Local Government Public Competitive Recruitment Examination' and will perform tasks supporting council members' legislative activities, such as drafting, revising, and repealing ordinances, reviewing budgets and settlements, administrative audits, and administrative investigations.

Following the recruitment of three policy support officers last year, the county council has now fully staffed the four policy support officer positions stipulated by the Local Autonomy Act (half the number of council members) through this appointment.

Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun stated, "As the roles and functions of local councils are gradually expanding, the role of policy support officers in facilitating smooth legislative activities is important," and added, "I hope they will do their best in their duties so that council members can carry out efficient legislative activities."
