The Citizens' Sports Harmony Festival will feature competitions in 11 events: soccer, volleyball, jokgu, athletics, tug-of-war, tied-leg running, gateball, hangung, tuho, jegichagi, and arm wrestling. Additionally, a 400m relay race will be held as a friendly match with participation from heads of local institutions and organizations.
Since this is the first event held in four years due to COVID-19 since 2019, thorough preparations have been made to ensure citizens' safety and smooth operation, including medical support, facility inspections for safety at crowded venues, and measures to maintain traffic and parking order.
Mayor Choi Kyung-sik said, “Although the weather is chilly after Ipdong, this is a meaningful day where all citizens can open their hearts and unite through sports activities. Since this is the first gathering in a long time, I hope everyone has an enjoyable time of harmony and communication.”
