Combination of 16+ Year Aged Spirits from Bourbon, Sherry, and Virgin Casks
Korea Brown-Forman announced on the 8th that it will re-release the Speyside single malt whiskey ‘Benriach 16’ in the domestic market.
First launched in 2004, Benriach 16 is an iconic product in the Benriach whiskey lineup, having won the ‘Best Speyside Single Malt’ award at the 2015 World Whisky Awards. The company expects this re-release to attract high interest from whiskey enthusiasts worldwide.
Benriach 16 is characterized by a rich yet balanced flavor, created by uniquely blending spirits aged for over 16 years in bourbon, sherry, and virgin casks. It harmonizes sweet fruit, creamy hazelnut, and fragrant spice aromas and tastes, with finishing notes of wild honey and sugar-cured peel adding a special touch.
A representative from Korea Brown-Forman Benriach stated, "As the domestic whiskey market grows and diversifies, the number of consumers seeking whiskeys with distinctive flavors is rapidly increasing. We hope single malt whiskey enthusiasts can enjoy the unique taste and aroma of the Speyside region through Benriach 16."
Located in northern Speyside, Scotland, the Benriach distillery was established in 1898 by John Duff. It offers three product lines: Unpeated, Peated, and Triple distillation, and possesses over 30 types of casks, producing single malt whiskeys with multi-layered flavors.
