Award Ceremony at City Hall on the 8th at 10 AM, Attended by Over 100 Including Winners, Families, and Colleagues
Based on Mutual Trust Between Labor and Management, Recognizing Contributions to Improving Work Environment, Enhancing Corporate Prod
Busan City will hold the ‘31st Industrial Peace Awards Ceremony’ at 10 a.m. on the 8th in the International Conference Hall of City Hall.
Since the first ceremony was held in 1993, the Industrial Peace Awards, now in its 31st year, are given to individuals who have contributed to industrial peace by fostering mutual trust between labor and management in the workplace, improving labor conditions, enhancing corporate productivity, and preventing industrial accidents.
This year, a total of 10 recipients were selected: 8 in the Industrial Peace Award category (model workers and businesspeople) and 2 in the Industrial Peace Merit Award category (members of related organizations and groups).
The model worker awardees include ▲ Kim Su-nam, Chairman of the Busan Branch of the National Tobacco and Ginseng Workers' Union ▲ Yoon Ki-jang, Chairman of the Dongjin Shipping Labor Union ▲ Kang Hong-gi, Branch Chairman of the Sewon Transportation Branch of the National Taxi Industry Labor Union ▲ Kim Jae-won, Executive Vice Chairman of the Busan Port Labor Union, who were recognized for their contributions to labor-management coexistence and the promotion of labor-management cooperation.
In the businessperson category, ▲ Park Yong-jin, CEO of Autonics ▲ Shin Ki-hyun, CEO of Jeongseok I&D ▲ Noh In-young, CEO of KEM ▲ Lee Jwa-young, CEO of Unitecno were selected for their efforts to improve worker welfare, industrial automation, and productivity in various fields such as automotive parts.
In the merit award category, ▲ Ryu Myung-hwa, Labor Inspector at the Busan Regional Employment and Labor Office ▲ Kim Jung-woo, Deputy Manager at Busan Environmental Corporation, who have worked to build sound labor-management relations, were honored with the award.
A plaque will be presented to the awardees, and notably, model workers will receive benefits such as exemption from toll fees on Gwangandaegyo Bridge and free parking at public parking lots for three years.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun said, “I sincerely thank and congratulate the awardees who have maintained peace in the local industry through harmony and cooperation despite difficult economic conditions and employment situations caused by internal and external factors,” adding, “This award ceremony is expected to serve as a stepping stone toward Busan becoming a city where workers are respected and a good city for business.”
