Emission Grade 5 Vehicle Operation Restrictions During Fine Dust Seasonal Management Period (Dec?Mar)
City Announces Enforcement in Seoul Metropolitan Area and 6 Major Special/Metropolitan Cities, Promotes Prompt Low-Emission Measures
Pohang City is proactively enforcing restrictions on the operation of Grade 5 emission vehicles to reduce fine dust emissions ahead of the winter season, when high concentrations of fine dust frequently occur.
Poster Announcing the Implementation of Operation Restrictions on Grade 5 Vehicles under the Seasonal Fine Dust Management Program.
In preparation for the "5th Fine Dust Seasonal Management Period," which runs from December this year to March next year and involves measures to reduce and manage fine dust emissions in the transportation sector, the city has started restricting the operation of Grade 5 vehicles in the public sector from November, one month in advance, and is providing guidance on applying for low-emission measures.
Owners of Grade 5 vehicles registered in the city will be notified via text message about the operation restrictions and penalty impositions. The enforcement areas for the 5th seasonal management period's Grade 5 vehicle operation restrictions have been expanded to the metropolitan area and six major special/metropolitan cities (Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, Daejeon, Ulsan, Sejong), and the enforcement targets include all Grade 5 vehicles registered in 17 cities and provinces nationwide.
Additionally, the city is promoting early low-emission measures (early scrapping, installation of reduction devices) for restricted vehicles through the city website, environmental promotion electronic billboards, and administrative welfare centers. Applications for low-emission measures for old diesel vehicles can be made on the automobile emission website.
