Hwasun-gun, 20th Hwasun Dolmen National Marathon 'Successful'

Over 2,000 Participants from Across the Country in a Healing Race Filled with Autumn Atmosphere

On the 5th, Hwasun County in Jeollanam-do announced on the 7th that it successfully held the Hwasun Dolmen National Marathon at the Hwasun Public Stadium area.

The event was hosted by the Hwasun County Sports Council (Chairman Jeong Hyeong-chan) and organized by the Hwasun County Athletics Association (Chairman Jo Jeong-ho) and the National Marathon Association (Chairman Jang Young-gi), with about 2,000 participants including marathon club members.

The management team of the Hwasun County Athletics Association, Hwasun Police Station, and the Hwasun Marine Corps Veterans Association did their best to control traffic and provide support so that the marathoners could run the course safely.

In particular, to enable quick response in case of emergencies at the headquarters and turning points, ambulances and medical staff were deployed by the Hwasun Fire Station and Hwasun Health Center, ensuring preparedness for any possible safety incidents, and the event concluded without any accidents.

A county official said, “The Hwasun Dolmen National Marathon is held annually to promote Hwasun, a beautiful region in the southern province, and the pride of Hwasun, the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Hwasun Dolmen Sites,” adding, “We hope all marathon enthusiasts participating in the event run joyfully without injuries and fully enjoy the autumn scenery unique to Hwasun, where cosmos and wildflowers are in full bloom.”
