Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk Province will accept applications for the '2024 Organic Fertilizer Support Project' from the 9th of this month until the 8th of next month.
According to the city on the 7th, the Organic Fertilizer Support Project is implemented annually to promote the resource utilization and recycling of agricultural and livestock by-products, preserve the soil environment through organic matter supply, realize sustainable agriculture, and foster eco-friendly farming.
Applicants must be registered or planning to register as agricultural management entities and must maintain this status during the period when organic fertilizer is supplied.
Applications can be submitted at the town, township, or neighborhood offices where the farmland is located. If farmland is located in multiple cities or counties, applications must be submitted to each respective city or county.
The support covers organic fertilizer and matured organic fertilizer. For organic fertilizer, 1,600 KRW per 20kg bag is provided, and for matured organic fertilizer, support ranges from 1,300 to 1,600 KRW per 20kg bag depending on the grade.
The city offers an additional support of 300 KRW per 20kg bag if the fertilizer is purchased from local producers.
The applied organic fertilizer is scheduled to be supplied sequentially starting from January next year.
Jeonjeonggi, Director of the Agricultural Technology Center, said, "This project aims to reduce the financial burden on farmers, and we hope for active interest from the farming community. Farmers wishing to apply should update their agricultural management entity information and be sure to apply within the deadline."
