Shinsegae Group announced on the 7th that it has unveiled products collaborated with Samsung Electronics, CJ CheilJedang, and others, one week ahead of the shopping festival '2023 SSG Day,' featuring all its affiliates.
More than 250,000 customers participated in the 'SSG Day Awards' event held from the 1st to the 5th. The SSG Day Awards is an event where Shinsegae Group introduces 40 items prepared over a year for SSG Day, with 20 items first revealed on the SSG.com event page on the 1st. The most anticipated item voted by customers was Gmarket's 'Roborock S8 Pro Ultra' robot vacuum cleaner, chosen by over 100,000 customers. This product set a record by selling out within an hour during Gmarket's Big Smile Day in May this year. Since then, customer purchase inquiries have continued, and competition among retailers to secure the product has been fierce. Gmarket plans to secure a large quantity of stock to showcase during SSG Day.
Shinsegae Casa's Wooster single recliner and Shinsegae Live Shopping's Casamia Materasso premium Hungarian goose down bedding also received high voting rates. This reflects customers' expectations to purchase high-priced products at exceptional prices during the SSG Day period.
Among the second batch of SSG Day Awards items revealed on the 7th, major products are collaborations with leading manufacturers such as Samsung Electronics, CJ CheilJedang, and Yuhan-Kimberly. Emart has prepared the 'SSG Day Special Package,' consisting of TVs, refrigerators, kimchi refrigerators, washing machines, and dryers, allowing customers to purchase Samsung Electronics' large home appliances with the year's best benefits.
The 'CJ Frozen K-Snack 6-Item Bundle' created with CJ CheilJedang and the 'Kleenex Signature Kitchen Towel' made with Yuhan-Kimberly are also SSG Day special products. These were designed to help customers who wait for SSG Day to buy food and daily necessities in bulk to feel the cost-saving effects.
Starbucks collaborated with the street fashion brand 'Under My Car' to sell a limited quantity of the 'Black Over My Bag' exclusively on its online mall. Shinsegae Department Store plans to showcase limited edition products created in partnership with 'D&Sir' and exclusively designed DIA-quilting light down jackets.
To promote SSG Day, the 'Express Train to SSG Day E-SSGPRESS' pop-up store, decorated using Emart24 Samcheong-dong branch, is increasing visitor numbers and raising anticipation.
A Shinsegae Group official said, "As SSG Day has established itself as Korea's representative shopping festival, numerous national leading manufacturers and hot brands favored by the MZ generation (Millennials + Gen Z) have joined in large numbers," adding, "We hope customers enjoy SSG Day, starting on the 13th, even more richly by participating in pre-events to earn SSG Money and enter prize draws."
