Dalseongbo Green Trail opened in December 2011. Starting from Daegu Arboretum, it passes through the beautiful scenic spots of the Dalseong area and leads to Dalseongbo. Along this green trail, you can encounter various cultural assets and stunning landscapes, eventually reaching Nakdong River’s Dalseongbo.
This trail allows you to experience major cultural heritage sites of Dalseong County, including the 200-year-old Nampyeongmunssi Inheungsegeoji, designated as a treasure, folk material, and Daegu City tangible cultural property; Inheung Seowon, which houses the wooden blocks of Myeongsimbogam; Yongyeonsa Temple, where the true relics of Sakyamuni Buddha are preserved; and Sogyejeong, commemorating Mr. Seok Jaejun of Sogye. You can also visit Hwawon Natural Recreation Forest, Okyeonji, a representative tourist spot of Dalseong County, and Hambaksan Observatory, which offers a panoramic view of Daegu City, allowing you to enjoy various breathtaking sceneries.
Dalseongbo features various waterfront spaces such as a visitor center and fishway observation room, where visitors can appreciate the beauty of the Nakdong River. The embankment road starting from Dalseongbo includes a bicycle path and ecological park, and passing through Hwawon Amusement Park, it leads to Gangjeongbo, another premium reservoir of Dalseong.
The 200-year-old Nampyeongmunssi Inheungsegeoji is now regarded not just as a family or clan property but as a cultural asset of the region, attracting attention both domestically and internationally as a social entity.
The Myeongsimbogam edition preserved at Inheung Seowon was compiled by Nodang Chujeok. Nodang Chujeok passed the civil service examination in the 2nd year of Wonjong (1261) and served as Minister of Finance and Yeomungwan Jehak. Myeongsimbogam is a compilation selecting easy and practical contents from the classics and writings of Confucius and other scholars, as well as poetry and prose, serving as a guide for daily life.
Yongyeonsa Temple is located on the northern foothills of Biseulsan Mountain in Okpo-eup, Dalseong County. The cherry blossom path at the entrance is famous, and at the valley entrance appears Yongyeonsa’s famous 'Okyeonji' pond. Yongyeonsa was founded in 912 (the 1st year of King Shindeok of Silla) by Buddhist monk Boyang. Behind Yongyeonsa’s Jeokmyeolbogung is a stone stairway enshrining the true relics of Sakyamuni Buddha brought from China by monk Jajang. This stone stairway, built with a stone pagoda-shaped upper part on a double pedestal and carved with the Eight Heavenly Generals and Four Heavenly Kings, is an excellent piece of stone art itself and is designated as Treasure No. 539.
