Seoul Jung-gu Council Requests Public Audit of Jung-gu Facilities Corporation to Board of Audit and Inspection

Seoul Jung-gu Council members Gil Ki-young, Lee Jeong-mi, Song Jae-cheon, and Jo Mi-jung submitted a public interest audit request to the Board of Audit and Inspection on the 3rd, asking for an investigation into various suspicions including personnel irregularities at the Jung-gu Facilities Management Corporation.

Earlier, on October 31, the Jung-gu Council held the 281st extraordinary session, where the agenda to request an audit by the Board of Audit and Inspection (proposed by Council member Lee Jeong-mi and three others) was presented and approved by the plenary session.

The audit request to the Board of Audit and Inspection was pursued as a follow-up measure after the activities of the Special Administrative Affairs Investigation Committee (Chair Lee Jeong-mi), related to the operation of the Jung-gu Facilities Management Corporation, were temporarily suspended on the 19th of last month due to a re-request by the executive branch.

Recently, as various suspicions regarding the reckless management and personnel irregularities of the Jung-gu Facilities Management Corporation were reported, the Jung-gu Council held the 280th extraordinary session on October 16 to present the request for the Special Administrative Affairs Investigation Committee and the resolution for its formation. With the agenda approved in the plenary session, the investigation committee began its activities on the 19th, but on the same day, due to the executive branch’s re-request, it was unable to conduct proper activities and was suspended.
