The 'Local Government Productivity Awards' is an evaluation that comprehensively measures the efforts and capabilities of basic local governments to improve residents' quality of life and public services from a productivity perspective through objective statistical indicators.

This productivity award received applications from 144 local governments nationwide, and winners were selected in two categories: the productivity index measurement category, which measures the efficiency and effectiveness of city administration based on 17 indicators across 6 fields, and the excellent case category, which evaluates outstanding productivity cases in 4 different fields.

The city explained that it received excellent evaluations in the areas of regional economic capacity and administrative and financial capacity within the 'local government competitiveness' sector of the productivity index measurement category. Specifically, it received the highest S grade in ▲employment growth rate ▲financial independence ratio ▲financial autonomy ratio ▲poverty reduction rate. Additionally, it received an A grade in six indicators including ▲per capita Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth rate ▲local government integrity ▲regional safety index.

Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "This award is the result of everyone working together to realize the vision of sustainable growth and a regional win-win corporate city," adding, "We will focus administrative capabilities on implementing policies tailored to the characteristics of each zone to become a ‘1 Million Hope Hwaseong City’ where citizens can feel changes in their quality of life."
