Hwasun-gun Conducts '2023 Disaster Response Safety Korea Drill'

County Governor Gubokgyu Commands Situation Room-Disaster Site Linked Drill

Hwasun County, Jeollanam-do announced on the 2nd that it conducted the '2023 Disaster Response Safety Korea Drill' on the 31st of last month.


This drill involved a total of about 220 participants, including five related organizations such as Hwasun Police Station, Hwasun Fire Station, and Honam 119 Special Rescue Team, as well as six private companies and groups including KT, Marine Energy, and Volunteer Fire Brigade, along with Hwasun residents.

The drill was conducted in accordance with Article 35 of the 'Disaster and Safety Management Basic Act,' assuming a 'large fire and collapse accident at the Microbial Demonstration Support Center,' to check the disaster response and cooperation system with disaster management responsible agencies and related organizations in the area.


In particular, real-time video was broadcast from the Disaster Safety Situation Room and the Microbial Demonstration Support Center (the drill site), with the Hwasun County Governor directly commanding the phased disaster response, recovery, and restoration efforts.


County Governor Gubokgyu stated, “This drill served as a good opportunity to strengthen mutual cooperation and response capabilities among local agencies and collaborating departments,” adding, “We hope that all agencies and organizations will continue to build a thorough response system so that they can cooperate and actively respond to large-scale disaster accidents in the future.”
