The Nation's Largest Youth Startup Festival Held in Gyeongju

2023 Youth Bizcool Festival Held

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Lee Young) announced that from the 2nd to the 4th, the '2023 Youth BizCool Festival' will be held for three days at the HwaBaek Convention Center in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

The 'Youth BizCool Festival' is the largest youth entrepreneurship festival in Korea, held annually since 2007 to share the achievements of the BizCool program and the vision of entrepreneurship education with schools, parents, and the general public, and to spread an entrepreneurship-friendly culture within society.

In particular, this year's event is the first large-scale event held after the end of COVID-19. Additionally, a keynote speech was delivered by Ahn Taeyang, CEO of Food Culture Lab, who successfully globalized K-Food items, along with a dialogue among famous successful entrepreneurs.

Moreover, 68 BizCool operating schools selected from five regions nationwide operated a 'School Pavilion' to exhibit and promote their achievements, and a 'Corporate Pavilion' was run in collaboration with Lotte Chemical, Naver, Yanadoo, and Kyungpook National University, allowing visitors to experience 4th industrial revolution technologies, increasing attendees' interest.

Furthermore, the final results of the 'BizCool Solution,' where companies' perceived social problems are solved through youth ideas, and the 'BizCool Camp,' which supports entrepreneurship experiential education by school level and target group, were announced as representative events of this year's BizCool.

Minister Lee Young stated, "The Youth BizCool Festival is the longest-running and largest youth entrepreneurship festival in Korea," adding, "Through this event, I hope our youth attendees will rekindle their spirit of challenge and self-directedness, and that such entrepreneurial spirit will gradually spread throughout society."
