Goryeong-gun Hosts 'Goryeong♡Nakdonggang Promotion Committee Launch Ceremony and Ginkgo Tree Forest Festival'

Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, and the Goryeong♡Nakdonggang Promotion Committee (Chairman Seong Hyeon-deok) will hold the ‘Goryeong♡Nakdonggang Promotion Committee Launch Ceremony and Ginkgo Tree Forest Festival’ on the 4th at 4 p.m. in the Dasan Ginkgo Tree Forest area, with about 500 participants including key figures and local residents.

The launch ceremony of the Goryeong♡Nakdonggang Promotion Committee is an event where local residents who cherish the Ginkgo Tree Forest and the Nakdong River gather to form the committee, establish management plans for the Nakdong River surroundings, and mark the beginning of continuous environmental conservation and cultural activities.


Starting with the launch ceremony, until November 5, a ‘Forest Experience School’ featuring forest experiences and games will be held, along with a ‘Photo & Short-form Festival’ where tourists can receive prizes by taking photos and short-form videos of the Ginkgo Tree Forest and uploading them on SNS. Additionally, a ‘Flea Market’ involving local businesses will operate, offering food and experiential activities. On the 5th at 2 p.m., a busking performance will be held to provide enjoyment to tourists visiting the Ginkgo Tree Forest.


After the launch ceremony on the 4th, at 5 p.m., the ‘2023 Goryeong Rock(ROCK)樂 Festival’ featuring performances by famous domestic rock bands such as Seomuntak and No Brain will take place.


Chairman Seong Hyeon-deok stated, “The Promotion Committee will actively work together with local residents and related organizations to make the Ginkgo Tree Forest a premium tourist destination.”


County Governor Lee Nam-cheol said, “To make the Ginkgo Tree Forest a sustainable representative attraction of the Nakdong River, the public and private sectors will collaborate through various methods such as environmental campaigns, planting flowers and trees, creating walking paths, and cultural events to provide a healthy resting place for residents.” He added, “I hope private companies, public institutions, and social organizations will actively participate in practicing ESG management and achieving carbon neutrality.”
