The Spectacular Musical Fountain Where Water, Light, and Music Harmonize Officially Launches
On the 1st, Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it held the completion ceremony for the ‘Hwasuncheon Flower River Road Construction Project,’ a key pledge of the 8th local government, on the 31st of last month.
The completion ceremony was attended by National Assembly member Shin Jeong-hoon, Hwasun County Governor Gu Bok-gyu, Chairman of Hwasun County Council Ha Seong-dong, Provincial Assembly members Yoo Ki-jun and Im Ji-rak, about 10 county council members, and over 1,000 local residents, making it a grand event.
In particular, attendees cheered for the spectacular fountain show accompanied by music, featuring a pedestrian bridge with beautiful night views and a video performance using a water screen.
Hwasun-gun invested 12.3 billion KRW starting with the groundbreaking ceremony in February 2023 to create an ecological and cultural tourism river where various attractions, healing, and rest coexist.
The newly constructed musical fountain includes a 60m long and 10m wide musical water basin, a cannon shooter reaching up to 50m in height, 681 nozzles, 263 LED underwater lights, and a beam projector. The large-scale fountain, along with the plaza, spectator seats, cosmos walking path, and splendid scenery and lighting, is expected to become a new regional landmark and a cultural relaxation space for the residents of Hwasun-gun.
The musical fountain will operate once on weekdays (7 PM) and twice on weekends (6:30 PM and 7:30 PM) until mid-November.
Additionally, by combining various events such as street performances (busking), it is expected to create a romantic and fantastic nightscape, becoming a popular spot for photography.
Governor Gu Bok-gyu said, “The Hwasuncheon Flower River Road will become a new tourist resource offering beautiful scenery and various attractions along Hwasuncheon. I hope many tourists and residents will stroll, enjoy, and find healing along the Hwasuncheon Flower River Road.”
