Daegu Dong-gu Office Creates 5.24km Barefoot Walking Trail Along Kumho River Embankment

On the 1st, Daegu Dong-gu Office announced that it is creating a walking trail along the Kumho Riverside embankment that is ideal for barefoot walking.


This is a measure to meet the current trend demand for the hottest keyword related to health, "barefoot walking," and to promote the health of residents.

The project section is a 5.24 km stretch along the Kumho Riverside embankment from Gonghanggyo Bridge to Yulhacheon Bridge, including the Jijeo-dong Cherry Blossom Road, which is beloved as a cherry blossom path. Currently, a 1.17 km walking trail has been completed in part of the section (from Gonghanggyo Bridge to Ayanggyo Bridge). In the future, convenience facilities such as foot washing stations and restrooms will be installed, and an additional 2.2 km walking trail from Ayanggyo Bridge to Hwaranggyo Bridge will be created by December. The entire project is planned to be completed by the first half of next year.


Yoon Seok-jun, head of Daegu Dong-gu Office, said, “We hope that the Kumho Riverside Cherry Blossom Barefoot Trail will become the nation’s top barefoot walking destination, where people can enjoy the beautiful Kumho River and the changing scenery of the riverside throughout the seasons.”
