Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, will provide longevity celebration funds to 18 elderly residents aged 100 or older starting in October.

Uljin-gun Provides Longevity Celebration Funds to Seniors Aged 100 and Over Uljin County Office.

The longevity celebration fund was established to create a social atmosphere of respect and filial piety for the elderly and to promote elderly welfare. In May, Uljin-gun enacted the "Ordinance on the Provision of Longevity Celebration Funds in Uljin-gun." A one-time payment of 1 million KRW is given to those aged 100 or older to wish for their well-being and longevity.

This year's longevity celebration fund will be implemented with the project budget secured through the supplementary budget. Eligible recipients are those aged 100 or older who have been registered residents of Uljin-gun for more than one year. Applications can be submitted at the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Centers starting from the month of the recipient's 100th birthday according to the resident registration, and the payment will be made via bank transfer the following month.

Considering the advanced age of the recipients, individual notices and phone guidance will be provided to all eligible persons. Proxy applications are allowed, so family members or guardians can apply on behalf of the recipients.

Son Byeong-bok, the county governor, stated, “We plan to continue discovering and implementing various welfare policies so that our elderly citizens can enjoy a healthy and vibrant old age.”
