Hanwha Resort Baegam Oncheon to Close for the Last Time This Year

Operating Losses Continue... Operations Halted After 35 Years

Hanwha Resort Baekam Oncheon will cease operations at the end of this year.

Hanwha Hotels & Resorts announced on the 31st that Hanwha Resort Baekam Oncheon in Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk, will close its doors on December 31. However, the company added that it will continue operating other Hanwha Resorts and plans to expand partnerships with nearby facilities.

Hanwha Resort Baekam Oncheon, which opened in October 1988, has operated a total of 250 rooms along with restaurants, hot spring saunas, hot spring experience centers, and specialty product shops. However, due to ongoing operating losses influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision to close was ultimately made.

Previously, Hanwha Hotels & Resorts also ceased operations of Hanwha Resort Suanbo Oncheon in Chungju, Chungbuk, in August 2021. At that time, Suanbo Oncheon was also struggling with severe losses due to the impact of COVID-19.
