Gwangjin-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) announced on the 31st that it won the 'Grand Prize' and 'Excellence Award' at the '2023 Outstanding Integrated Case Management Contest' held by the Korea Social Security Information Service for integrated case managers and public officials.

This contest was hosted by the Korea Social Security Information Service to enhance understanding and interest in integrated case management, disseminate case management practice skills, and support the strengthening of job competencies.

Integrated case management refers to a project that connects and provides customized services such as welfare, health, and housing based on public and private resources within the community to clients with diverse needs. It also plays a role in helping clients maintain a stable life through continuous monitoring.

Gwangjin-gu had two entries selected in the contest that depicted the joys and sorrows experienced through integrated case management while meeting multicultural families struggling with life in a foreign country.

Choi Byung-hwa, an integrated case manager who won the Grand Prize, presented “The Spicy Roadmap of Happiness with Illegal Immigrant Mothers and Children Who Entered Midway through Public-Private-Academic-Police Cooperation,” and Kim Ki-soon, who received the Excellence Award, addressed “Teacher! I received my elementary school diploma. I want to go to middle school too.” (The Self-Reliant Growth Story of a Cambodian Family).

The awarded staff said, “We feel proud to be able to help people in difficulty through integrated case management. We will continue to be people who deliver positive influence.”

Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “I thank the staff who strive to help residents facing complex difficulties in the local community,” and added, “We will continue to spare no effort to provide various support so that the public-private cooperation system can be firmly established.”

In February, Gwangjin-gu held training and meetings attended by about 30 public and private practitioners to provide closer integrated case management support. Various activities are being carried out with public and private cooperation centered on regional activity plans.
