Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee), in collaboration with Seoul National University Lifelong Education Center, is operating the ‘SG Future School Campus Career Planning Program,’ which is gaining great popularity among students.
‘SG Future School Campus’ refers to an educational ecosystem jointly operated by local educational institutions and Gwanak-gu, allowing general high schools in Gwanak-gu to benefit from the specialized resources of the university.
As part of the recent ‘SG Future School Campus’ project, the Graduate School of Data Science at Seoul National University is conducting a career planning program for 1st and 2nd-year high school students over two sessions (October 28 and November 4).
The program content is tailored to each grade: for 1st-year students, ▲special lectures on university entrance exams ▲time with mentors (Q&A); for 2nd-year students, ▲1:1 entrance exam consulting ▲1:1 career and college counseling ▲subject-specific learning mentoring. Additionally, to motivate students for entrance exams, the program concludes with a campus tour of Seoul National University.
The first session held on October 28 attracted attention from residents, with over 100 attendees including about 70 students, parents, and teachers.
Students who participated in the program praised it, saying, “It was an opportunity to set career directions and seriously reflect,” and “The counseling was beneficial based on individually prepared materials.”
The district plans to hold the second session on November 4 and will strive to provide various entrance exam information needed by students and parents.
Mayor Park Jun-hee stated, “Through this program, I hope students discover their strengths and take a step closer to their dreams,” adding, “We will continue to support and actively encourage the bright dreams and futures of our Gwanak-gu students.”
Meanwhile, through the SG Future School Campus project, the district is conducting ▲career planning ▲specialized arts and physical education programs for local high school students utilizing Seoul National University’s excellent educational resources.
With a total of 53 courses across five fields including the 4th Industrial Revolution, humanities and social sciences, and creative arts, along with special lectures in art and physical education, the program operates personalized courses that serve as a strong support for students’ career planning.
