‘Gaya Cultural Zone Special Exhibition’ Held ... Connecting Goryeong, Seongju, and Chilgok through Culture and Arts

The opening ceremony celebrating the 'Gaya Cultural Zone Special Exhibition,' hosted by the Goryeong Cultural Center and organized by the Goryeong Artists Association, Seongju Artists Association, and the Korean Fine Arts Association Chilgok Branch, was held on the 29th at the Gayasan History and Mythology Theme Hall.

The exhibition will run for 9 days from October 28 to November 5.


The opening ceremony was attended by many distinguished guests, including National Assembly member Jeong Hee-yong, County Governor Lee Nam-cheol, County Council Chairman Kim Myung-guk, Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly member Noh Seong-hwan, Goryeong Cultural Center Director Shin Tae-woon, Seongju County Council Chairman and members Kim Seong-woo, Gyeongbuk Provincial Assembly members Kang Man-su and Park Soon-beom.


The ceremony proceeded with a ribbon-cutting, an art performance where attendees left the exhibition slogan on the floor guestbook, a congratulatory performance by the Goryeong County Ureuk Youth Gayageum Ensemble, and an exhibition guide.


This exhibition is a meaningful event prepared jointly by members of the art associations from Goryeong, Seongju, and Chilgok, showcasing a diverse range of works including Western painting, contemporary art, Korean painting, folk painting, crafts, photography, and design all in one place.


Additionally, a collaborative art pre-market (beads craft experience) by the Seongju Artists Association and Daegu Science University was held, providing another source of enjoyment for visitors to the exhibition hall.


Shin Tae-woon, Director of the Goryeong Cultural Center, said, “I would like to thank the members of the art associations who presented excellent works for the three Gaya cultural zone exhibitions, as well as many related parties.”


County Governor Lee Nam-cheol said, “I sincerely congratulate the special exhibition of the Gaya cultural zone in the three regions of Goryeong, Seongju, and Chilgok. We will continue to expand opportunities for cultural exchange and pursue growth as a more developed cultural city.”
