Hi Investment & Securities has embarked on diversifying its new business by utilizing token securities (STO).
Hi Investment & Securities announced on the 31st that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ChargeIn, a company specializing in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, to promote the token securities business. The signing ceremony, held on the 30th at the Hi Investment & Securities headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, was attended by Hong Won-sik, President of Hi Investment & Securities, and Choi Young-seok, CEO of ChargeIn, among other officials.
Through this agreement, Hi Investment & Securities and ChargeIn will jointly pursue business opportunities related to token securities, including the issuance of token securities based on electric vehicle charging infrastructure, the STO of investment contract securities, and cooperation in account management services.
ChargeIn has been providing a charging platform and solutions based on a technology that integrates electric vehicle charging with blockchain, building a socket-based charging platform. They plan to raise funds for the construction of electric vehicle charging infrastructure through token securities and promote a business that distributes profits generated from operating the charging infrastructure. Choi Young-seok, CEO of ChargeIn, stated, "We aim to contribute to reducing carbon emissions and expanding the adoption of electric vehicles by inducing private investment in electric vehicle charging infrastructure through token securities."
Hong Won-sik, President of Hi Investment & Securities, said, "We have collaborated with ChargeIn to commercialize the attractive asset of electric vehicle charging infrastructure through token securities," adding, "We will continuously explore promising underlying assets and additional partnerships to provide diverse and differentiated token securities."
