Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) will hold a "City Run" on November 3rd from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM, where about 250 domestic and international tourists will run through the Apgujeong-dong and Cheongdam-dong areas as part of the Gangnam Unique Tour, a themed tourism program.
The "Gangnam Unique Tour" is an abbreviation of "You N Every Experience in Gangnam (UNEEG·Unique)" tour, a themed tourism program that combines Gangnam's attractions with experiential content.
From May to November this year, seven programs such as K-pop star experiences, outdoor yoga and walking programs at Yangjaecheon Stream have been operated twice a month. In September, it was selected for the Seoul Tourism Foundation's "2023 Seoul Themed Tourism County Discovery and Promotion Project," which led to the expansion of three programs. Accordingly, tourism content that allows visitors to experience Gangnam's lifestyle at Gangnam's attractions has been planned, and the City Run is being introduced for the first time.
The City Run is a program where participants can enjoy nighttime urban running, a trend among the younger generation, in Gangnam. The course runs about 7 km round trip through Dosan Park, Dosan-daero (Apgujeong Rodeo and Cheongdam Luxury Street), Cheongdam Neighborhood Park, and Samsung Sunrise Park. About 250 participants will be divided into six groups and run together under the coaching of professional running instructors.
In addition, ▲ on November 10th, "Real Gangnam Story," where participants can explore Gangnam's development from the 1970s on-site at Apgujeong Apartments, Daechi-dong Academy District, and Eunma Shopping Center ▲ on November 16th, "Bongeunsa Temple Life" in the city and a "Seonjeongneung Walk" wearing hanbok with a guide ▲ on November 24th, "K-POP Idol Experience," which includes K-POP dance and makeup classes, will follow. Detailed schedules and reservations/applications can be found on the "Visit Gangnam" website.
Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, "Recently, tourism content has shifted from simply visiting attractions to providing special experiences," and added, "We will continue to develop experiential content unique to Gangnam to widely promote Gangnam's charm to both domestic and international visitors."
