Seoul Medical Science Institute Donates 30 Million KRW to Yongin Volunteer Center

"Used for Ingredients Cost of Love Sharing Kimchi-Making Festival"

The Gyeonggi-do Yongin Volunteer Center announced on the 30th that Seoul Medical Science Research Institute donated 30 million won to be used for kimchi-making ingredients for vulnerable groups.

The donation ceremony held at the Yongin Mayor's Office was attended by Lee Sang-il, the chairman of the center and mayor of Yongin, Lee Kyung-ryul, the director general of Seoul Medical Science Research Institute, and other officials.

Seoul Medical Science Research Institute, a medical testing specialized institution located in Yeongdeok-dong, Giheung-gu, Yongin, is supporting the center for the second time. Previously, in October last year, Seoul Medical Science Research Institute signed a 'business agreement to improve the quality of life of local residents' with the center and donated 15.65 million won for kimchi-making ingredients and supplies worth 14.35 million won, including safety raincoats and gloves.

The center plans to use this donation for the ingredients of the upcoming ‘2023 Yongin Love Sharing Kimchi Festival’ scheduled for next month. The kimchi made at the event will be delivered to 740 vulnerable households, including elderly people living alone.

Chairman Lee Sang-il said, "We are grateful that Seoul Medical Science Research Institute practiced sharing to help neighbors in need again this year." Director General Lee Kyung-ryul responded, "It is an honor to be able to join in helping neighbors in need," adding, "We will continue to accompany the community while considering ways to contribute to society."
