Female Employee Who Threatened Lee Seon-gyun: "I Received 300 Million Won but Was Also Threatened by a Third Party"

Actress Lee Seon-gyun (48) acknowledged that a female employee at an entertainment establishment, who was reportedly involved in threatening him in connection with a drug case, received money from him but claimed that she was also threatened by a third party.

According to legal circles on the 30th, A (29, female), the manager of the entertainment establishment who was recently arrested on charges of psychotropic drugs under the Narcotics Control Act, admitted to receiving "30 million won in cash" from Lee in relation to the case where Lee filed a complaint against her for extortion. It is reported that A made this statement to her lawyer during a recent police investigation on drug use charges.

Earlier, Lee filed a complaint with the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office through his lawyer against A and an unidentified person B, claiming that he was threatened in connection with the drug case and extorted for 35 million won. The prosecution recently transferred this case to the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency.

Lee suspects that A conspired with B to threaten him. However, A claims that she was also threatened by B, who approached her via social media. A reportedly stated, "I was threatened through social networking services (SNS) by a person who doubted the relationship between Lee and me," and added, "I do not know exactly who the person threatening me is." She also said that she did not receive the remaining 5 million won of the 35 million won that Lee claims as the extorted amount.

A police official said, "We have not yet conducted a formal suspect interrogation regarding the extortion case," and added, "A's claims are under investigation, so we cannot disclose details." A is suspected of delivering drugs supplied by a doctor she knew to Lee and G-Dragon (35, real name Kwon Ji-yong) while working at an entertainment establishment in Gangnam, Seoul until recently.

Last month, during the process of verifying intelligence that "drugs are being distributed at entertainment bars in Gangnam, Seoul," the police identified charges against five people, including A, Lee, and Kwon, and filed criminal charges. They are also conducting internal investigations on five others, including a third-generation chaebol family member, a composer who used to be a broadcaster, and an aspiring singer.

The police are coordinating schedules with Lee's lawyer to conduct a formal investigation of Lee, who was sent home after only a preliminary drug test on the 28th. They also plan to send Lee's hair and urine samples to the National Forensic Service for detailed analysis. Previously, a simple drug test on Lee showed a "negative" result. The simple test typically reacts if drugs were used within 5 to 10 days, so its accuracy is limited.
