Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 30th that it visited the Happy Apartment dementia-safe village in the district and conducted the "We Are All Memory Keepers" campaign.
This campaign was organized to raise awareness for creating a dementia-friendly environment.
The main activities included ▲promotion of missing dementia elderly prevention ▲consultation on Dementia Safety Center services ▲early dementia screening with a 10-minute investment ▲operation of experience booths such as making coffee grounds flowerpots for brain health.
The Happy Apartment dementia-safe village was created by applying cognitive enhancement design to common areas in small-scale multi-family housing, enabling residents to communicate with each other and jointly practice dementia prevention.
In 2019, three locations were designated: Daemyeong Apartment in Gyelim 2-dong, Jinah Highville in Jisan 2-dong, and Shinyang Mansion in Sansu 2-dong. In 2020, Baekjo Apartment in Jiwon 1-dong, and last year, Ilgwang Mansion in Jiwon 2-dong were designated, making a total of five locations currently in operation.
